ALEX HOLLMANN RELEASES NEW ALBUM OUT WITH THE TIDE

VERDIGRE, NE – September 2021 – Alex Hollmann released his new album Out with the Tide on September 3rd. The album includes fourteen songs all written and performed by Hollmann. The music will be available on all the popular streaming services, such as Spotify and Apple Music, and limited-edition CDs will be sold while supplies last.

In 2010, Hollmann released Ivory Zephyrs, an album of nine at-home recordings of instrumental piano compositions. While once again showcasing his piano skills, Out with the Tide is his first album to feature his lyrics and vocals and to be recorded at a professional studio. Although the album has been in the works for many years, during the unexpected downtime caused by the pandemic, Hollmann was finally able to record the album over the course of three days at Startracker Recording Studio in Lincoln, NE. The album explores themes of letting go and connection and most closely falls into the pop singer/songwriter genre. Artwork for the project features photography by Cassondra Holland, another Verdigre native.

Alex Hollmann grew up in Verdigre. Following high school, Hollmann studied theatre, music, and arts administration at Doane University and Wichita State University. Prior to the pandemic, he was working in the theatre industry in New York City.

Limited-edition CDs can be purchased online at alexhollmann.com or alexhollmann.bandcamp.com. For those wishing to use cash or check, contact Hollmann directly via email at alexhollmannarts@gmail.com or by text or call at 402-358-1114. The album can be streamed on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Amazon Music, and most other common music services.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Impulse Theatrics to Perform “The Effect”

OMAHA, NE – Impulse Theatrics will present Lucy Prebble’s play “The Effect” as their season opening production. The show will run Oct. 18, 19, 20 21, 25, 26, 27, and 28 at 7:00 p.m.

Ticket reservations can be made by calling 123-456-7890, online at www.impulsetheatrics.com, or by visiting the box office at 123 Elm St., Omaha, NE.

“The Effect” tells the story of Connie and Tristan, two volunteers in a clinical trial for an anti-depressant, who have a sudden illicit romance which forces their two supervising doctors to face off over the ethical consequences of their work. Is their love real or a side effect of the drug?

“This show has a really powerful message,” said director Adam Westscott, “and it brings up a lot of relevant questions about our society that we all need to think about.”

He notes that the show, although specific to an anti-depressant clinical trial, has remarkable parallels to other situations involving substances such as alcohol or drugs. His concept for the show is a clean-cut, simplified interpretation that cuts to the heart of the story.

After having a remarkable turnout for the company’s first-ever auditions, the cast is comprised of an all-star talent. The small ensemble consists of Elizabeth Miles as Connie, Mitchell Brooks as Tristan, Jacob Whitman as Toby, and Marcy Peters as Dr. Lorna James.

“During rehearsals, the cast has become very close,” Miles said, “and it shows on stage. This play has some really intense relationships, and it has been intriguing to explore those with each other.”

Ticket price is $20. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more. The production is sponsored by Drake Pharmaceutical Company.

Impulse Theatrics is an up-and-coming theatre in downtown Omaha, NE that is producing their debut season of three productions. For more information, call 123-456-7890 or visit www.impulsetheatrics.com.
